Cross-Border Collaboration: LEA and Kazakh Institute Join Forces for EU-Backed Recycling Project
On May 23, 2025, the Creative & Innovation Institute LLP from Karaganda, Kazakhstan, and the Leadership Excellence Academy Germany (LEA) PartG from Potsdam, Germany, signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
Both partners express their mutual intention to establish strategic cooperation in preparing and submitting a joint application for the ERMA Booster Call grant program under the EIT Raw Materials initiative, aimed at implementing a waste recycling and circular economy project in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
As part of the project, a PET recycling facility is planned to be established in Karaganda. The rPET flakes produced there are in high demand in Europe, where they are mainly used for the production of sustainable packaging. They are particularly sought after in the food industry because of their high transparency and food suitability.
LEA is providing advisory support to its partners in Karaganda, assisting in areas such as sourcing modern equipment from Europe.

Foreign trade and project finance for bankers and finance managers in emerging markets.
The participants were highly engaged and took away valuable insights from the training. It was a great opportunity to exchange knowledge, explore real-world applications, and build connections. We look forward to future sessions!
